Miracle On The Hudson

When I saw this picture it just gave me chills. If you have not told your children about this day that a plane landed in the Hudson River and absolutely everyone was ok.....then let me urge you to take time today to tell them. This picture is worth a thousand words. It is the only way to explain the outcome of this plane but then again it is a faith thing, believing what you cannot see with the human eye but your spiritual eyes know exactly what happened. I hope you will find this as amazing as I do and will take time to share with all the kids. It will put a good visual in their little spirits to know that God is always there even when you cannot see Him. I love you all........................

Do You See It?

This little squirrel came down this tree while I was close enough to touch it, Needless to say it got my attention. I am sad to say that I will not be there this weekend. I am a little disappointed (LOT) but I know we will be over there sometimes the end of March or April maybe. I am going to get my hair cut, I have a new magazine of Paul Deen and I want to look just like that when I walk out of that shop. A friend of Wayne's said that if you would post your motorcycle for sale down here it would sell. Let me know what kind it is, the miles and what ever anyone would want to know about it. You could send me a picture of it I guess. Who knows, someone might drive all the way up there to buy that thing .........maybe. Well, I had to write this before I forgot it. Hope all of you are having a really great day. Wayne is getting ready for his fishing trip, please pray that he has a safe trip. I love you all, mom

Memorial

This is a memorial for the hurricanes Katrina and Rita. They are on the campus of Southeastern in Hammond. Where the two spouts are coming up are where they hit land. It is a coastline of the Texas, Louisiana Mississipi. Listed below are the counties that were devastated by these hurricanes. The water runs very slowly over the edges. Very impressive. I think Donna and I will be leaving here very early Thursday morning heading your way. That is if everyone stays well and we can get away. I have asked her to make all of you a cajun gumbo. So when she gives me a list of what we need there I will let you know. Since we will only be there a short while it will help if the groceries are already there. Hope that is ok. Anyway hope to see all of you at the end of this week. Please pray that we will have a successful trip. Love all of you and miss you.

Check This Out

Can you believe believe these limbs from this tree on the ground.
This moss looks like the tree has a beard.

Wayne playing in his boat............60 hp motor, trolling motor, 2 seats in back one up front. Much smaller than the boat Wayne had and sold.

Just shining the boat up a little, has not been run in over two years.

This is Wayne putting his newly acquired boat and truck under the garage.

This is Wayne preparing to go under the house to cut down some fallen insulation and tack up what he could. He really hates spiders.

This is one of many pictures from the campus of Southeastern Louisiana College in Hammond.

How Much Do Your Children Need To Know

This is not going to be as easy as I thought. I am having a difficult time trying to find a starting point and then weeding out the important from the not necessary. As you all know I have forgotten some things and will have to dig around in my brain to find the good things because I think it is going to be important to find all the nuggets we can. I want to give you good stories, truthful stories and maybe even a fun one or two stories. I am watching the news this morning and it is apparent that the past may be much better than the future, economy wise that is. They are saying the stock market is going to drop down to 6,000. Wow. This is probably something no one wants to remember. But if you have a 401K they are saying you will have lost at least half of it. My goodness, we certainly are experiencing a CHANGE with this new president. So if you have a question about a specific time in our lives please ask and I will focus on that. I also am trying to plan a trip to Tenn next weekend while Wayne is fishing. Donna says she will go with me, depending on how Aunt Vestelle does. So I am not excited yet because she is not really doing well, but I am praying she does good. If we come it will be we leave here Thursday and leave Sunday coming back. Short for sure. love you all....................

For My Children

Hey Kids!
I woke up with you all on my mind. I have not forgotten
you just because I have moved. In fact I have been thinking
not about death but what happens when someone dies. I know that
makes not much sense but since this blog is written specifically
for you it is ok. I am sure that within this mind of mine that
therein lies a mass amount of information that will go untouched
if I do not try to share it with you. I realized after Mema died
that there were things that only she could tell me. Relatives
I couldn't remember names to, houses we used to live in, things I
did when I was too small to remember. All of you know that
I struggle trying to remember and I have learned I need to
write it down so that I too can go back and remember.
This is a completely new blog, not to be confused with
the other one. I am specifically writing this to you, my
children and grandchildren and niece and nephew
and their children. Since Brenda has gone to be with
the Lord also it appears that God has left me with
the mantle of sharing memories with all
of you. So I want all of you to feel free to add to this
blog, please put comments that might encourage me
to continue doing this. Also if any of you have access
to any pictures that might help our grandchildren remember
something or learn something please share it. I know Bun and Sherri and Steve have memories that go way back. Jason
did not share in about 12 of those years and I am sure
he would love to know more about all of you. Anyway,
I will stop for now, don't know how often I will write
on this blog but I feel like the other blog may be an end
to a season in my life. It was mainly to help me remember
Susanne, now I want to focus remembering all of you.
Ok, that is it for now, "I am moving on Up".
